A puppy is like a new baby; A puppy is like having a new baby in the home it is not a decision that you would take lightly. It is a commitment for 10 to 16 years.Golden retrievers are intelligent, gentle natured dogs, they are easy to train, and they are great with children. Golden pups are very adaptable and usually settle in very well with minimal trouble.
Puppies need lots of love and take up lots of time and patience is required to train them to become a loving, well behaved member of your family. Ideally you do need to be home during the puppies first few months, part time at the least, full time at home is best. Puppies need lots of training .We recommend puppy preschool and at least 6-12 months of Obedience. If you put the Time into them as a youngster you will have a happy well socialized Golden. A securely fenced yard is a must, if you have an in ground pool this must be fenced off. Please feel free to discuss your personal situation if you are thinking of adding a new Golden baby to your home. In relation to hip dysplasia; Hip dysplasia is known to occur in Golden Retrievers. The parents of any puppy bred by Emperosgold Golden Retrievers have been assessed under the Australian Veterinary Association program as having hips satisfactory for breeding purposes, which means that the risk of a puppy developing hip dysplasia is reduced In relation to eye disease; Certain eye diseases are known to occur in Golden Retrievers. Again the parents of any puppy bred by Emperosgold Golden Retrievers have current eye certificates from a canine ophthalmologist. This means that they have been tested and showed no symptoms of eye disease at the time of testing. This again reduces the likelihood of a puppy developing eye-disease More information on hereditary diseases can be found http://www.mydogweb.com.au/emperosgold/page1.asp
